Styling the Sardines Dress for Every Occasion
April 9, 2026Sardine dress is so far the hardest working piece in my wardrobe and this week proved that in spades.
At first glance it’s a bit of an out there dress and something that a lot of people would not call ”versatile.” But that is what is was so intriguing about this garment. I didn’t want save this for a different occasion and I wanted to see if I could style it 7 days in a row and it delivered.
Starting from the least bold to the most.
Monday I opted for a casual outfit of a denim jacket and some white sneakers, The dress brought the most attention and if the outfit was from a casual coffee run.
Tuesday. Back to the office and I used the oppurtunity to sport a a more structured look. I went with loafers and a black tailored blazer. A bit of a transformation in my look replaced the print of the dress with a much more professional look.
Wednesday came and I had some errands to run I dressed for comfort with some flflat sandals and a canvas tote to keep things easy.
Friday is where the the magic kicked in I decided to od some chunky gold jewelry grabbed a pair of strappy heels and the dress transformed into a statement evening look. Zero effort was required.
Sunday was a relaxed brunch with some espadrilles. I layered the dress over a plain white tee and it felt a bit more than out of the box it was a bit more than what was expected.
The most surprising part is not that fact the dress had so many different iterations. What suprised me the most is that there was virtually no effort required in getting dressed.
Always consider the bold items in your wardrobe. Your most dependable pieces could come from unexpected places.
